The birth of a child entails a lot of new and unfamiliar experiences. For mothers, it is a life event that is associated with enormous physical and psychological adjustment. The first months may therefore not only be wonderful, but also challenging and stressful. However, it is hardly known how women can best be supported during this time. The goal of the DFG-funded INVITE study is to examine the utilization of treatment and counseling services for women after giving birth. Our aim is to research women's health and other factors that support access to suitable care.

Within the next two years, we would like to interview around 6,500 women three to four months after giving birth about their treatment and counseling preferences. The extensive data collection offers the unique opportunity to record and examine the health behavior of women after childbirth, their treatment and counseling preferences, as well as related factors. It is important that as many women as possible take part in the study in order to achieve meaningful results. These results, in turn, could help to improve postpartum care for mothers.

Additionally, the INVITE study is part of the international study NTERSECT, which aims to improve obstetric care for women worldwide. Learn more about this exciting project in the following video
