Research Associates/PhD Students (f/m/x)

The Else Kröner-Fresenius Center for Digital Health (EKFZ), a joint center of the Carl Gustav Carus Medical Faculty of Dresden University of Technology and Dresden University Hospital, promotes translational and interdisciplinary research in the field of digital medicine and health. The center, which is funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation, cooperates closely with many high-tech specialists in Dresden's research environment and aims to strengthen and promote cooperation with university medicine.

We are currently recruiting two

Research Associates/PhD Students (f/m/x)

- in the area of Digital Health and Medical Device Innovation -

The position is full-time, initially limited to 24 months, with the possibility of longer-term cooperation. The salary will be according to TV-L conditions and depends on experience.

As a Research Associate at EKFZ, you will be part of the CYMEDSEC and PATH research programs, collaborating with leading industry and academic partners across Germany and the EU. Together with our team and external partners, you will research the latest methods for understanding the ethical implications of data sharing and stakeholder views on cybersecurity within medical devices. You will explore and develop innovative approaches for regulatory approval of digital medical devices, focusing on cybersecurity and ethical considerations, and write research articles targeting major journals.

Your profile:

  • degree in life science, medicine, psychology, engineering, or a related field
  • proficient in English (written and spoken)
  • agile mindset with a high level of motivation
  • interest in ethical questions and conducting stakeholder interviews and working with partners in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research projects
  • research experience in the past years (e.g. publications as first or co-author) or a strong willingness to learn
  • reside in or be willing to relocate to Dresden
  • knowledge of basic statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python) is an advantage
