World Hearing Day 2024: Educational Event at University Hospital Dresden

Dresden, March 15, 2024 – As part of a global initiative by the WHO, ERCD and the ENT-HNS clinic recently hosted an event to mark World Hearing Day, focusing on the theme "Changing mindsets: Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for all".

The program was led by Prof. Dr. med. Marcus Neudert and Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Thomas Zahnert, featuring expert speakers on various aspects of ear and hearing care. Highlights included discussions on new ear surgery techniques, treatments for sudden hearing loss, cochlear implants, and the latest in hearing aid technology.

Key presentations were given by Dr. med. Christoph Müller on innovative ear surgery methods, Dr. med. Susen Lailach with updates on sudden hearing loss, and Dr. Annett Franke-Trieger on cochlear implants. Dr. Hannes Seidler discussed the connectivity of hearing aids and hearing systems.

This event underscored the importance of advancing medical knowledge and changing public perceptions about hearing care. It also highlighted the role of the University Hospital Dresden's HörCentrum as a center for the diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders.
