Participation at the „Dresden Science Night“ 2024

On June 14, 2024, the Ear Research Center Dresden (ERCD) took part in the „Dresden Science Night“ under the theme "UNITED BY SCIENCE." This annual event, which saw over 50 institutions open their doors to the public, attracted an impressive 30,000 visitors. We were happy to welcome 400 of those visitors to our stand, where they explored the fascinating world of hearing research.

Our program featured a range of engaging activities, including:

  • Balance Tests: In collaboration with the University Physiotherapy Center UPZ, visitors could participate in balance tests to better understand the connection between balance and hearing.
  • Crafting Station for Children: Our youngest guests enjoyed a hands-on crafting station, where they could learn about hearing in a fun and creative way.
  • Interactive Hearing Journey: Attendees embarked on a journey to explore topics such as the experience of hearing loss, the sound quality provided by cochlear implants, and the mystery of auditory illusions.

In addition to these interactive elements, we hosted expert talks on current research and developments in hearing and hearing rehabilitation. These sessions provided valuable insights and encouraged meaningful conversations between our researchers and the public.

We are already looking forward to participating in next year’s event!
